Who am I? …tough
question…

I’m a mountaneer and a writer
I was born on 5th April 1979 in Genoa,
my mother is Genoese and my father comes from Valle d’Aosta. My family taught me to live
together with the Nature and thanks to them I could enjoy the depths of the sea
and the majesty of mountains. I will always remember the countless ascents on the rigdes and the races
in the woods, when I was a bocia1, with my
sister and my cousins, the numberless evenings, everyone gathered around the
fire, listening to the fascinating stories of the deeds of my parents, who were
my first models. I learnt to know
the mountain in Valle d’Aosta, among my Alps, but almost immediately I found my playing-field in
the Appennines. Two faces of the same indissoluble nature.
Who was I?…an
easier matter…
I studied
scientific subjects at school, from physics to chemistry, from
electrotechnology to computer science and I qualified in electronics and
telecommunications with full marks.
I got a teacher
certificate for athletics and for several years I practised as educator,
teacher and trainer.
I
graduated in History with full marks and thesis pubblication and I was
interested in many kinds of Arts.
I practiced about
20 sports in my life, with excellent results in regional and national
competitions and for 12 years I devoted myself to athletics, I have been on the
podium of the Italian championship 8 times, taking part in several track &
field meeting and setting numerous
records.
I took an interest
in every type of artistic expression, from sculpture in different materials, to
model-making, to acrobatic dance, from singing to composition, from
photography, to painting and drawing…
In
my life I tried to discover every emotion, in the same way I tried to enjoy
every spark of the spirit of the Mountain. I adore walking in the woods, climb
a ice face, ascend on the rock, in classical or modern technique, with a
sports-minded approach, but never forgetting the warmth and the hearty meals. I
like skiing, going in caves, I love mountain rambling and trekking… I adore mountaineering
It is
touching for me walking quietly, even for a few minutes, on the seaside, inches
away from the mysterious abysses…and I adore ascending in roped party, beyond
the 4,000 mt, with an intense rhythm,
while the top approaches, outlining the skyline.
I believe that, for
each of us, exists a corner of heaven, a gift of life and nature. I only ask to live
my passion and then pass it to others with my words, as others passionately
made with me with tales, images, perfumes. A few simple
sensations of mine may allow other people to have the same fortune I had, or at
least, I hope so…
What
will I be?

We will discover it
together.
